Automatic Pressure

Automatic pressure machines can provide CPAP pressure using their autotitrating setting or at a fixed pressure setting. These machines offer flexibility in pressure delivery with all options available.

When the machine is set to the autotitrating mode, the machine is constantly monitoring for a blocked upper airway, breath by breath, and provide pressure accordingly. The autotitrating setting supplies pressure when you need it, when your airway obstructs, and then drops the pressure back when the airway is open and not obstructed. In this way lower average pressures are often delivered and tolerance can be better. Your treating doctor will provide a script with the autotitrating parameters for your machine if he/she recommends that setting for your condition.
