This program is for those patients referred by their GP, Sleep Physician, or other Medical Practitioner. The program aims to treat insomnia with non-drug cognitive behavioural approaches, which have been shown in the medical literature to be the most effective with the longest lasting effects.
In this six-week online course you’ll be guided every step of the way to learn the lifelong skills of mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBTi). The mindfulness training will help you learn how to slow down a busy mind and reduce stress and tension in daily life. The CBTi training will help you to change unhelpful behavioural habits and thinking patterns that interfere with sleep; and teach you how to calm the mind and body when you can’t sleep at night.
Each week you’ll need about 1-2 hours to watch a series of short videos, complete some written exercises, and practice the meditations. You’ll have access to all the resources you need, including meditation recordings and a course workbook to help you practice the skills needed to prevent chronic insomnia occurring again in the future. You can start the course anytime and your access will be open for three months.
